The end of the year is typically a time to both look back at what we accomplished and to set our sights on the future.
This year I wrote and illustrated a picture book, something I never thought I’d do. What started as a challenge then grew into a passion project and finally became something I’m proud of.
Then I wrote a short story for an anthology and got accepted. It’s a retelling of an old Slovenian folk tale, with an added wizard-like person, a kresnik.
And lastly, after a year-long hiatus, I continued writing my time travel novel. I’m using something akin to the snowflake method to push through and write the barebones story. It finally helped me to decide on an ending.
As for the future, I got inspired by HB90 and started planning for the next quarter only. So some of my goals for Q1 are:
- finish formatting Where is my Basket? and publish it,
- do some developmental editing on my time travel novel and bring the word count to the final goal,
- participate in a local short story competition.
I wish you a happy and successful 2023!
