My story is heavily inspired by a Slovenian folk tale, Krivopetnice in zlatorog. Zlatorog is a legendary being that features in a number of Slovenian tales, usually described as a white mountain goat with golden horns. My retelling of this tale is told from the perspective of Branimir, a young kresnik (people who can use magic, guardians).
